  • 11 cup toor dal (yellow lentils)
  • 22 tbsp oil
  • 31 tsp mustard seeds
  • 41 tsp cumin seeds
  • 52 dried red chilies
  • 68-10 curry leaves
  • 71 onion, chopped
  • 82 tomatoes, chopped
  • 91 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 101/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 111 tsp red chili powder
  • 121 tsp coriander powder
  • 13Salt to taste
  • 14Fresh coriander
  • 15Lemon juice
Instructions

    Cook toor dal with turmeric until soft and mushy.

    Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilies, and curry leaves.

    Add onions and cook until golden brown.

    Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.

    Add tomatoes and cook until soft.

    Add all spices and cook for 2 minutes.

    Add cooked dal and simmer for 10 minutes.

    Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander. Serve with rice.
