A slow-cooked Pakistani beef stew with aromatic spices, perfect for a hearty dinner. Traditionally served with naan.

  • 11 kg beef shank with bones
  • 23 tbsp nihari masala
  • 32 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 42 onions, sliced
  • 52 tbsp oil
  • 61 tsp red chili powder
  • 71/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 8Salt to taste
  • 9Fresh ginger strips
  • 10Fresh coriander
  • 11Green chilies
  • 12Lemon wedges
Instructions

    Heat oil and fry onions until golden. Set aside.

    Add beef and ginger-garlic paste. Cook until beef changes color.

    Add nihari masala, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt.

    Add fried onions and enough water to cover meat.

    Pressure cook for 1 hour or slow cook for 3 hours until tender.

    Cook uncovered to thicken gravy.

    Garnish with ginger, coriander, and green chilies.

    Serve with naan and lemon wedges.
